I love to read now, but when I was a kid it was a struggle for my parents to get me to read. I remember having a book near me so I could hurry and grab it when they got home so they'd think I was reading. It wasn't until around 5th grade when I fell in love with a series of books that I finally started my love of reading. So far I've been lucky with my own children. My oldest LOVES books and it's a punishment to take away reading time at night. Time will tell if the baby will feel the same. But if you're like my parents and are struggling to get your children interested in books and reading then you need to check out ReadKiddoRead, the website created by best selling author James Patterson. On ReadKiddoRead you'll find lists of books for different age groups that are sure to capture your child's attention and get them anxious for more. You can read reviews by authors and publishers on each book. Your children will love what they're reading and will be begging to stay up a little later to read a little more. If you're looking for a book to give your child for Christmas I suggest this as a great place to start looking.
I know once I started loving to read I was begging for new books all the time. I wanted the next in the series, I wanted to start a new series I'd heard about, I wanted to go to the library all the time and it just kept going on.
If you want to hear about more books and things that appeal to moms then don't forget to check out MotherTalk. And if you're a James Patterson you'll want to check out his recent interview with Al Roker where he discusses ReadKiddoRead and his latest novel Cross Country. You can find it here.
