I miss the days when my daughter would respond to "I love you!" with, "I love you too!" These days when I say, "I love you!" she responds with, "I know!"
While I'm grateful she knows that I love her, I still miss hearing her say it. Occasionally I get lucky and she comes running up to me out of nowhere and tells me she loves me.
Sigh...

That definitely is a sign that they are getting older. My daughter is 24 now and whilst I am in Aus and she in the UK the 3 words "I love you" now come back as "I love you".
My husband and my 3 year old have this I LOVE YOU shouting match. It makes me so happy when they play that game..... who can say it louder!
