Lately I've been trying to be more conscious of making choices that are good for our environment. I'm far from perfect, but I believe every decision, big or small, can make a difference. I've switched over to using re-usable grocery bags when I go shopping (at least when I remember to bring them inside), I've started using many different cleaners for the home and I even bought an aluminum water bottle to reduce the plastic waste. So why am I telling you all this? Because I've been introduced to another product that is environmentally friendly and one of you Red Sox Mommy readers will be able to win some for yourself. This product is called Dropps, it's a laundry soap that makes doing laundry easier and is good for our world. I was sent a couple samples, enough to do 4 medium loads of laundry. It really was easy to use. I just dropped the detergent pac in my washing machine and let the clothes get clean. There was no measuring or pouring. The Dropps didn't take up much space at all either. So easy!
Dropps are High-Efficiency compatible because they're a low suds soap. These pacs are biodegradable, dissolving fully in the wash. They're also phosphate, chlorine and NPE free. And for those of you with septic tanks you're in luck because they're safe for your use as well. Now, I did say one of you would win some of these nifty Dropps, didn't I? If you want to win three 20 load pouches, that's approximately a 3 month supply, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post letting me know something you're doing to help the environment.
After you've completed that entry you can feel free to do one or more of the following for more entries. Just make sure you're leaving separate comments for all since I use random.org to pick my winners by their comment number.
- Visit the Dropps website and tell me what scent appeals most to you. (1 entry)
- Blog about this giveaway (5 entries, leave 5 comments)
- Add my button to your blog (2 entries, leave 2 comments) or add my URL to your blogroll (1 entry)
- Become a follower (on Blogger) and/or subscriber (1 entry each)
- Fave this blog on Technorati (1 entry)

- Follow me on Twitter (@RedSoxMommy) and tweet about this giveaway, you can do this one once per day, just leave a comment each time (1 entry each time)
Disclaimer: You must have a US mailing address. You must leave a valid email address so I can contact you if you win. I will not use the addresses for any other purpose. You must follow the first entry requirement before any extra entries will be counted as valid. No "count me in" style comments will be qualified to win, please follow the directions. You have until August 16, 2009 at 11:59pm MT to enter. I will choose the winner at random soon after that time and s/he will have 72 hours to respond to the winning notification or a new winner will be chosen by the same method. No one related to me may win. The winner's info will be given to the sponsor so they can mail out the prize.
Good luck!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 339 Newer› Newest»I recycle everything I can, from trash to home furnishing and everything in between :)
I'd love to try the fresh scent. I'm trying to recycle more. Thanks for the contest.

I do many things to help the environment, but first and foremost, I am conscious of the way that I live. I don't do or buy things haphazardly. I think first about what short-term and long-term effects my decision will have, and then act accordingly.

I take plastic bags from the grocery store to a local retailer who reuses them. Saves him money.
We recycle everything, use cloth bags at the grocery store, changed all our light bulbs and now drink tap water with a water filter. Thank you!
I would love to try the Fresh Scent.

I do several things that are easy to do, we recycle its mandatory in my community, I use reusable bags at the grocery store and we compost for feeding our garden. Thanks for the opportunity.

I'm planning to cloth diaper my baby! (helping the environment AND needing more detergent...)
I would want to try the scent + dye free!
I recycle everything I can and I use my own bags when shopping.
I'd like the scent and dye free version.
I want Fresh Scent
I am recycling more things than I used to.
recyling, composting, taking my own bags to the grocers
We buy eco-friendly cleaning products! Its called Better Life and its great!
meredith.hellen@gmail.com
The Fresh Scent sounds great.
I always take my own bags to the grocery store- they are much stronger and I'm helping save some plastic bags!
I would like to try the Scent & dye free Dropps!
In my front yard I have taken out dirt and grass and put down rock to conserve water.

We don't use paper napkins or paper towels. Instead, I serged squares of cotton flannel and we use them instead!
To help the environment we do not buy bottled water very much anymore. We use a drink bottle instead. This way we keep the plastic bottles out of landfills. semtaylor(at)yahoo(dot)com
I would prefer the scent + dye free instead of a scent.
I am trying to help the environment. I use cloth diapers, recycle as much as I can, trying to go with un-paper towels. I'm trying to use eco-friendly cleaning products but that seems to be a big hurdle for our household...
all the scents appeal to me. I currently use free& clear stuff. i miss a scent in my clothes. baby smell would be nice.
I would love to try the Fresh scent!
Thanks for the giveaway :)

I no longer own a car, I double up with my husband and daughter, and that saves so much on the environment. I definitely am in the house more too, not driving as much.
Fresh Scent appeals to me the most.

I recycle as much as I can, although that is going to be more difficult now, since the center I used closed at the end of July. I also turn off vampire electronics, run the AC as little as possible (in OK that can be difficult!), and use reusable shopping bags.

We've started composting this year - with all our other recycling and making foodstuff ourselves to eliminate packaging brought into the house, we're now down to less than half a bag of trash going to the landfill each week. asthenight at gmail dot com
The scent that most appeals to me is....scent and dye free lol. asthenight at gmail dot com

We are paying attention to the amount of packaging companies use and buy refill sizes and recycle. Hope we win :)
I use my reuseable bags at the grocery, trip-chain, and I recently had a yard sale to "recycle" my old items rather than throwing them away.
The free&clear would be the only scent I could use. I am very sensitive to scents, dyes and perfumes.

I recycle (at home and work), I wash laundry in cold water (except for the really skanky stuff), I use fans instead of air conditioning, I buy second hand when I can and I donate the stuff our household no longer wants/needs.
I wash clothes in cold water, have switched to green cleaning supplies, no longer use paper napkins, plates, and towels, and we have opted out of prepaid credit offers and other junk mail.
I would like the scent + dye free because some scents give me migraines.
I've been trying to unplug appliances when not using them, especially my laptop. The little bit of electricity saved is (hopefullly) making an impact!

I finally have the habit down of getting the reusable shopping bags in the car so I have them with me to use. They go with me to green grocers, farmers markets in addition to grocery stores.
I would prefer the scent/dye free. We have allergies in the family that complicates my personal situation. As a rule though, I'd rather have things smell of 'nothing' rather than wonder if that spiffy smell was added just to cover up any lingering odors.
I am recycling, composting and shopping with cloth bags.
I'd like to try the Fresh scent.
We use recyled bags instead of store bags when we go shopping.

I think the most noticeable 'green effort' change we've made is the drastic reduction in the amount of plastic products we use/discard; for example, we no longer purchase bottled water. It's become most obvious on trash collection days! :)

I'm trying to do those "little" things that add up too. We've changed our light bulbs and use cloth bags for shopping. We take quicker showers, have cut back on water usage, unplug appliances when we're not using them, and turn off the lights when we leave a room.
One thing I'm doing to help the environment is to stop using disposable water bottles. I bought several reusable bottles (two for each family member.) I fill the water bottles and set them in the fridge, that way my family has water to go. It keeps them hydrated and reduces the chance that they will buy a bottled water when they're out and about.
