I feel like a real adult now

Legally I've been an adult for well over a decade. I'm just a couple weeks shy of 31 and I'm now totally feeling like an adult.

Today was the day we officially closed on the house. It was supposed to be last Friday, but long story short...it didn't happen. We did have the keys and did some minor work on it (painting, replacing outdated fixtures...so many more to go). The kind of stuff that isn't damaging.

But today, we signed 5 million, give or take, forms and the house is ours.

I've been really excited about it all day. Planning for what we'll need like more light fixtures, more paint, hardware for the cabinets, cattle supplies and more...well, not the cattle supplies. But with all we're buying it feels like we're buying everything in the world.

Tonight the reality of the whole thing is sinking in. We're adults. We have to be super responsible now. And...we're finally putting down roots. This is where our kids will go to school. This is the town our kids will call their hometown.

It's crazy...never in a million years would I have thought I'd end up in such a small town. But...we really like this one. The church we go to really helps with that though. There are so many other families with kids near our girls' ages. Everyone has been so nice. It's awesome! It's the kind of environment I want my kids to grow up in.

So, yeah, now I'm an adult...but that doesn't mean I always have to act like one though, right?
