Thank goodness for the kindness of others

I feel like I should update our situation for those of you who read often. I'm still beyond stressed about all the problems and costs associated with the house issues. But I feel very blessed right now.

I feel blessed because someone from church found out about our dryer situation and just happened to have a spare. They're lending it to us until we can afford a new one. Also my dad was in town and bought my oldest daughter a winter coat and bought $200 worth of groceries for us for my birthday along with taking us out to eat a few times. That totally helped distract me from the issues going on. My mom also sent us some food with my dad and she is going to give us about $100 at the end of October. And finally, my in-laws are sending us some money because they felt bad for us after reading my blog the other day. I feel a little embarrassed because I wasn't asking for money by writing that, I was just venting, but I am so thankful to them for caring and helping. I really hit the jackpot when it comes to family...and in-laws...and church friends!

Also, we haven't had a plumbing issue since Wednesday night (knock on wood!). No more heating problems and no more electrical problems. BUT...we still have to deal with that stinking tree! The realtor was out of town on Friday so we'll have to talk to him tomorrow.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who have helped! I have trouble asking for help, I want to be independent. But honestly, now is not a time for pride and I'm grateful to those who came to our rescue.

That's wonderful that your family is helping you. You're right about the pride part too, I'm not sure no matter what situation we were in that I would be able to get my husband to agree to that
