Earlier today I wrote about having to go to Urgent Care again. The news while we were there wasn't good...my 4 year old is showing signs of H1N1. The doctor said they're not doing the test for it unless the patient is so sick that they're hospital bound. But after looking down her throat, up her nose, in her ears, listening to her heart and her lungs and all the other stuff they do he said she had the signs of H1N1.
BUT...he also said she's handling it well and has a strong immune system.
This was the same doctor we dealt with in September when our daughter had strep. That visit was AWFUL! We were there for hours, the doctor was curt and didn't seem to like that we were even there and he had NO bedside manner. But today it was like he was a completely different person. He was nice and was good with her. We must've caught him on a bad day last time. I didn't leave there wanting to scream this time...even with the not so happy diagnosis.
Now we have a prescription for her to help her recover and I have hope that she'll actually sleep tonight...fingers crossed she doesn't spike a high fever again.

Oh no I will be praying all is ok. Hugs
OH my. I am sorry! It sounds like you made have caught it early enough to get the meds to kick it! Let us know!
Totally not fun. We have the same thing going on in our house. I just spend the evening in urgent care too making sure my oldest son's wasn't getting worse (he has been sick with it since SUnday). I am so glad to hear that you had a better experience this time! It makes a huge difference.
oh no! I will be hoping and praying that she is okay!
Wow sorry to here, I'll keep you in my prayers.
I was just talking with a ER administrator at the hospital i work at and he said anything that presents as the flu now is likely H1N1. The flu season hasn't officially started and the strain has no presented itself yet so anything like it is H1N1. in the up side he also said that this years regular flu vaccination has a little in it to build your immunity against H1N1 so while you should still get both even the 1 helps a bit.
Hope she feels better soon
I can't imagine the stress and worry you must be feeling right now. Hugs to you and your daughter, and wishes for her speedy recovery.
Poor thing! I hope the prescription kicks in fast and road to recovery is speedy!
Aww I hope she's feeling better soon.
My Dr said anyone who has the flu in our area it is all but guaranteed it is H1N1 but that it was nothing to be alarmed about if you have a decent immune system.
poor thing. my ped's office has a TON of dr.'s and I really only like one or two. I hate when we end up having to see just some random doctor. I can only imagine how bad urgent care is after seeing how busy our reg. dr. was.
