Are you a sweater? No, I'm not talking about a cardigan! I'm talking about sweat. That icky wetness that can sometimes be embarrassing. Sure, there are times when sweating is good, like when you're exercising. But when you're at a party, wedding, business meeting or any other social event it can be more than a little annoying. So what do you do to solve your sweat issues?I'll admit, I'm not a huge sweater myself. But I still find it annoying to sweat unless I'm exercising. And the summer heat leads to more sweating than normal as does the cranked up heat in some buildings during these cold winter months. So when I was given a chance to try out Certain Dri Anti-Perspirant I was curious. I'd heard of Certain Dri before when some moms on a parenting forum were discussing deodorant and anti-perspirant issues, but hadn't yet tried it myself.
What I knew, but didn't completely understand, was that deodorant and anti-perspirant are not the same thing. Sure, I knew that deodorant mostly just masked the nasty body odor that comes from sweating and anti-perspirant actually helps stop the sweating to begin with. But what I didn't know was how it stops the sweating. What I found out is that it's the aluminum that works it's way into your skin to stop the sweating. You can find out this and more if you watch this clip from ABC News, where sweating issues are discussed.
So what was my experience with trying Certain Dri? Well, I, like so many others, have been used to putting my deodorant or anti-perspirant on in the mornings, typically after showering. I had no idea this isn't the way to go. Nope, apparently you're supposed to put it on at night so the aluminum has time to work it's magic so you don't sweat so much. I found switching to putting it on at night a little hard to remember. Old habits die hard and I've been using deodorant or anti-perspirants since I started gym class in jr. high school. But when I did use it I found I wasn't feeling that annoying wetness creep up under my arms when I was doing some moderate exercise. Sure, I still sweat when working harder, but that's a good thing. At least I think it is.
Oh and at only about $5.50 - $6.00, Certain Dri is an affordable solution to sweaty problems!
How about you? Do you use deodorant or anti-perspirant? Have you used Certain Dri?

I actually used to use Certain Dri and I think I am going to go back to it. I loved it. I had to make sure to follow the directions, though, because I tended to use it too much (getting ready to go out every night I just automatically put it on, sometimes more than once) and it itched.
