I spoke too soon...sigh...

So I was thinking 2010 was off to a nice start...then this morning happened. We hadn't had a plumbing problem since October, I was starting to feel a little less nervous about our plumbing...only a little, but still. Anyway, first thing this morning I started a load of laundry then went upstairs to work on getting our bills ready to mail out. I was just addressing the envelope to our mortgage company when I heard my name being cried out from downstairs.

I threw everything aside and went running.

The pipe behind our washing machine where it drains during loads was overflowing and flooding the utility room.

Great! Just freaking great!

Sure, this is better than the time we had poop coming up from the drain in there or the time water was flowing from the downstairs bathroom and flooding that room and the hallway. That second one resulted in a backhoe digging up our front yard and replacing pipes and whatnot. This is hopefully just in need of a good drain snaking since it's the same drain that's attached to our garbage disposal and dishwasher. Fingers crossed! And nothing is backing up with flushing toilets and using bathroom sinks...yet, and hopefully not ever.

After this not so fun discovery I finished up the bills and walked about 1.25 miles to the post office...I needed some time to think and just not be at home. The walk there was easy, it's almost all downhill...the walk home wasn't as easy. But hey, my glutes are feeling it from that uphill climb. Bonus! ;) But I was getting pretty tired...note to self, eat breakfast BEFORE heading out on a long walk...I briefly considered calling my husband to come get me or maybe send a motorhome towing company to get me. I'm totally kidding about that last part, but I'm glad I got out in the nice crisp air to clear my head.

Oh...and today marks exactly 1 month since my miscarriage. Yeah...today has NOT been a good day all around.

Oh, I'm sorry. For bad plumbing, for forgetting breakfast, for sad memories. I hope tomorrow will be a much better day!

I'm sorry for the stinky day all around. Just try try try to keep the positive attitude. Don't let the negatives pull you down.
