The Superbowl is less than a week away. But something will be missing from the commercials this year...Pepsi ads! What?!?!? Whoa?!?!? Wait?!?!? That's right, but no worries, Pepsi's not going anywhere, they've just decided to invest their money and resources in meaningful social engagements. So what exactly does that mean?
It means that you can visit www.RefreshEverything.com to vote on who you think should receive grants of $5,000 - $250,000 to help better their community. You can even submit your own community's projects to be voted on in March. If you're lucky your submission could win one of those fantastic grants. You can submit projects in six categories: health, arts & culture, food & shelter, the planet, neighborhood, or education. During their Pepsi Refresh Project Pepsi will be donating up to $1.3 million!!! So this is a great time to look around your community and see where it needs some help!
Lauren Hobart, Mom and CMO of Sparking Brands at Pepsi is getting moms in her community excited about this program. Heck, she even has her kids getting in on the excitement! Already Pepsi has had over 1000 ideas submitted and are excited to see what other ideas are yet to come. And I agree with Lauren, who says they've basically "democratized the process" when it comes to choosing the winners. It's up to the public to vote on and that's pretty darn cool!
Please note anyone over 13 and a US resident can submit an application for the program. If children younger than 13 want to get involved they can get help from parents and teachers to get their ideas going. Visit www.RefreshEverything.com for more details.
