Win a $50 Walmart Gift Card *giveaway*

A few days ago I told you about Walmart's Game Time deals for this Super Bowl Sunday. I was at Walmart today and it was a madhouse as people were taking advantage of those great deals.

If you read my review the other day then you're likely awaiting what's coming next...

One lucky Red Sox Mommy reader will win a $50 Walmart gift card!!!

To enter just leave a comment on this post telling me one or more money saving tips OR a Super Bowl memory you have.

Examples:

My money saving tip when it comes to parties like the one we'll be having tomorrow is to make it a potluck party. When everyone brings something there is a lot of variety and no one breaks the bank.

As for a Super Bowl memory...I ran the Las Vegas Half-Marathon on Super Bowl Sunday in 2002. I remember relaxing at my friend's house after the race and watching the game while doing homework (I was in my final year of college at the time). :)

If you'd like more chances to win you can do one or more of the following after doing the above requirement, remember to leave a comment(s) for each entry you do:

- Blog about this giveaway (5 entries, leave 5 comments).
- Tweet about this giveaway, you can do this one once per day, just leave a comment with the link to your tweet each time (1 entry each time).
- Add my button to your blog (2 entries, leave 2 comments) or add my URL to your blogroll (1 entry).
- Become a follower or subscriber (1 entry).
- Enter another giveaway on Red Sox Mommy (if there is one going one, look in the left sidebar for links) (1 entry).

Disclaimer: The gift card is in US dollars, so it's only good for use in the US. I am willing to mail to Canada as well, but from what I understand you can only use it in the US. You must leave a valid email address so I can contact you if you win. I will not use the addresses for any other purpose. You must follow the first entry requirement before any extra entries will be counted as valid. No "count me in" style comments will be qualified to win, please follow the directions. You have until February 20, 2010 at 11:59pm MT to enter. I will choose the winner at random soon after that time and s/he will have 72 hours to respond to the winning notification or a new winner will be chosen by the same method.

Good luck!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Walmart. In addition, I received a Walmart gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate and one to offer as a giveaway. Information given is from Mom Central and Walmart, any opinions expressed are my own.

I am a die-hard Steelers fan but my husband is not. When the Steelers were playing last year, I actually watched most of the game in another room just so I could cheer them on!

I always try to spread my purchases out over several weeks, which usually works because most stores have promos over several weeks before the game. I also take advantage of those sales to stock up on extras beyond what we need for game day - I bought 5 family size bags of doritos for 99 cents - WAY too much for one day, but we'll have for awhile and can enjoy when we have Wii "tournaments" here.

I am not able to shop/drive much due to health reasons, but one way I save money on our grocery bills is to send my 17 year old to the store INSTEAD of my sweet and meat addicted HUSBAND! haha! We also stopped buying many of the name brands we used to...as it really didnt matter much in taste or quality. We do use coupons and we shop the sales flyers. And we do shop Walmart. SERIOUSLY, most of their food items are 30% cheaper than our local grocer!
THank you!

main entry: My best money saving tip for serving food for the game is to buy ahead of time items like beef, sausage, hillshire little smokies, cheeses etc in bulk so you save and freeze up those items in seperate packages so you have pleanty for game day and more later & use coupons too to save on items like Fritos scoops or chips to save, you can easily visit those companys online at there web site and most time print out coupons or get on their mailing list by subscrining to their newsletter to recieve copouns to help save. Walmart & Sams club offer great bulk items in many things. thanks

My fav. memory is when we were kids, my mom would make us Superbowl Squares (the kind where you win money at the end of each quarter) but we won a bag of candy instead. It was so much fun watching the game with my 5 bros/sisters and hoping we'd win! Though, we always ended up sharing the candy anyway!

Last year... we went to a Super Bowl party at a friend of the families house. Our 5 month old daughter had just gotten released from the hospital after a 5 day stay and it was sooo nice to be able to hang out with friends and family.. to do something "normal".. and be reminded how blessed we were after what we just went through.

A money saving tip other than clipping coupons? :) Okay... if you shop online at ALL sign up for EBates or another type of online site that allows you to get rebates when you shop. I've earned over $100 so far since signing up late last year. :)

I'd LOVE to win a gift card to WM. I go there every single week and $50 would help pay for formula and diapers. =)

One of my favorite superbowl memories was way back (and I do mean way) when my husband and I were both bartending at the same restaurant/bar and the cowboys were in the Superbowl (my husband was in heaven) and our bar had one of those Superbowl boards that you buy a space and see if your numbers match the score. I won $200 at half-time and then my husband won $400 at the end of the game...plus we made outrageous tips too! We used the money to go on a mini-vacation the next weekend!

My Superbowl memory was when I was younger, my mom and her friends went all out with a huge Superbowl party. Anyway, this particular year I was about 8, so this had to be in the early 80s and my mom's team was the Washington Redskins. Since fans from both teams were going to be there, there was a prize for the most Crazy fans. We dressed head to toe as Indian chiefs and did the warrior cry every time our team scored. It was a blast. Our team won the contest and the Redskins won the Superbowl. I will never forget it. EVER!

I remember watching the Giants/ Patriots superbowl and not being able to sit still. As a bills fan we HATE the patriots so we were really rooting for the giants. At the end i was sitting on the back of the couch with my heart pounding. When the Giants won i was jumping on the couch like a little kid

the best superbowl moment was when the chicago bears finally won! At least I can say Chicago won a superbowl once...which I cannot say for the beleaguered Cubs...

My money-saving tip is very easy: make a "bank" and drop all your change in it every day. You can use anything, a cleaned out bottle/can/etc. You'll be surprised how quickly the coins add up.
