An afternoon at a cupcake cafe

Two weeks ago today my 4 year old and I had the opportunity to go to a cupcake cafe with my mom. She took us there as a surprise and a good surprise it was! I've seen cupcake cafes on The Food Network (that station is seriously my new obsession...yum!) and heard about them on Twitter, but I'd never been to one myself.

This particular cafe is called The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe, it's in Provo, Utah (although I looked them up online, there's also a location in Rexburg, Idaho). They had a plentiful selection of delicious flavors. My daughter choose a decadent chocolate cupcake with cookies and cream butter cream icing decorated with a mini-Oreo. As you can see from her smile, she was pretty darn happy with it. My mom chose a cupcake called, "Better than Whatever...," I'm not sure what was in it but it looked tasty and she enjoyed it. Mine was a Coconut Lime cupcake complete with a tart lime butter cream frosting on top. It was heavenly! Yum!

Seriously, if any of you are lucky enough to live near either of these cafes you should totally go! They're open late and if I remember right each cupcake was only about $3. So good! I wish we had something like this in my part of Colorado.

There is a cupcake cafe here in DE and it is pretty good but cupcakes for $3 seems a little steep. Maybe I am just cheap. LOL.

I just got home from Florida where I was introduced to cupcake cafes! I'd never heard of them. We need them in the midwest!

That does look yummy.

For us, we have Luli's Capcakes in St. Augustine. We stop there everytime we are near.
