Stuffy, stuffy, sniff, sniff...and a fantasy baseball draft

Last night as I was winding down after a long day I started to feel a weird little tickle in the back of my throat. This is always the first sign that I'm getting sick.

I don't have time to be sick. No mom has time to be sick!

But I woke up...SICK! It's just a cold, but it's an annoyance none the less. But it was a perfect day to get sick. Our predicted rain ended up being lots of fog and snow...not the kind of day I like going out in anyway.

I needed to be inside this evening anyway. You see, today was my fantasy baseball league draft. Last year I wasn't able to be there for the draft and took my chances with what players I'd get. It actually turned out well as I ended up beating NINE seasoned fantasy sports MEN to be the number #1 person in our league. Oh yeah...it felt gooooooood! (It helped that my husband was #2 in the league so in the final set of playoffs I beat him...lol, I love you honey!) ;)

I wanted many of the same players, of course, they'd done so well for me last year, why wouldn't I want them? I especially wanted Josh Beckett, Jonathan Papelbon and Jacoby Ellsbury. All from the Red Sox, who else?!?! I didn't get my wish. I did get the first two players, but not Ellsbury. Sigh...my "sneaky" little cousin "stole" him right out from under me (I still love you Chris...but I need to whine for a day or twelve). Sigh...I'll survive though. I have many other great players and my pitching staff is stacked with some greats! The fact that I have four of the Red Sox starting pitchers as well as the Royals ace pitcher helps. I had him, Greinke, last year and he was pretty dang awesome! I have a couple other Red Sox with J.D. Drew (had him last year) and Dustin Pedroia (who my husband had last year and I "stole" him this year). I may never own my own baseball franchise, but dang it if I won't have fun with this fantasy stuff. I can't wait for the first game...is it April 4th yet? ;) Heck, is it June yet when I'll be going to a game?

I hope you feel better soon!
I have been getting a sore throat every morning and I have no idea why.
One day we should meet for a baseball game!
