Banquet Fruit Pies

I love pie! But sadly, my husband does not...he's weird, I know! Since there's no point in me buying a whole pie if I'm not going to have help eating it and I don't know how to make one homemade (yet), I rarely get to enjoy this delicious treat. Enter Banquet's new frozen fruit pies! They come in three flavors, apple, peach and cherry berry. Mom Central gave me the opportunity to give these pies a try and I chose the apple and peach varieties.

I was pretty excited to try them and had to, of course, go get some vanilla ice cream...apple pie a la mode, yum! I'll admit I was a little disappointed in how they looked. Much of the edging of the pie had broken off in the box (yes, in all 3 boxes I've tried so far) and after cooking they were a bit caved in. The taste was good and definitely worth the price, 88 cents at my local Walmart. The picture on the box was just a little prettier than the actual product. Now, I did read a review that said if you bake them in the oven they're much better. I'm just too lazy to wait for about half an hour for a little pie, so I went the easy and much quicker microwave route.

I did enjoy both flavors and wouldn't be surprised if the cherry berry flavor was good if you're a berry fan. These are definitely a tasty dessert for the price and are especially good if you're in a situation like me where you're the only pie lover in the house.

On August 26-28 Walmart will be giving away samples of Banquet's fruit pies along with Reddi-wip at 650 locations around the nation. To see if your local Walmart is participating check with the store's manager.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Banquet and received free coupons to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
