No Knead Rolls

Are you looking for a quick and easy roll recipe? I have one for you! I used to be intimidated by rolls. I was just sure I would fail at making them. Then earlier this year we were at our good friends' house and they made some rolls that were mighty tasty and looked quick and easy. I had to ask for the recipe...and now I'm going to share it with you. I'll admit, these rolls aren't super pretty like the crescent rolls you can make in a refrigerated tube, but they're homemade and yummy. So don't let their muffin like appearance fool you.

No Knead Rolls
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 pks dry yeast (4 1/2 tsp)
4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup margarine
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 egg

Pour water in large mixing bowl. Add yeast. Let stand for a few minutes to dissolve. Add half of the flour, all of the sugar, salt margarine and egg. {I don't usually cook with margarine, it grosses me out, I haven't tried this with butter yet, but I need to, it would probably work. Our friend told us the original recipe called for shortening..gag!} Mix until smooth. Add rest of flour and mix together. Cover and let rise in warm place until double. Grease muffin pans (makes 12 rolls), spoon batter in filling about 3/4 full. The dough will be sticky, I use 2 spoons to make it easy to spoon in without touching the dough. Let rise. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes, until brown.
