For a little over two weeks now my kids and I have been taking part in the Listerine Oral Care Challenge. This was the perfect time of year to get a head start on better oral health, you know, with all the holiday sweets that kept showing up wherever we went. As part of this challenge we were working to improve our oral health habits.
When our box of Listerine and Reach goodies showed up on our door step my daughters were excited. They each picked a new tooth brush and decided which bottle of Listerine Smart Rinse to test out first. Being the girly girls that they are, Barbie total beat out Batman and Phineas and Ferb. Once these choices had been made we were ready to begin our oral health transformation. My choices were much less fun than the girls, but I had my own adult Reach toothbrush and Listerine mouth wash. The goal: Brush, rinse and floss 2 times daily.
The result: Brush and rinse 2 times daily, floss once daily.
Not a terrible result in my opinion. My oldest was so excited about the whole thing, she really helped make things a success. She looks forward to brushing, rinsing and flossing. It's become such a normal thing for her. My younger daughter is still a work in progress, but with an older sister that tattles on her if she doesn't do it, she'll get it done as a habit in no time. And the Listerine Smart Rinse for kids will likely become a staple in our home.
It's never a bad time to start your own Listerine Oral Care Challenge. For more information on Listerine check out their website. If you're thinking about improving your own families oral hygiene routine I'd recommend this. After just a couple weeks we're already establishing a good habit.
