It's the holidays, which usually means there's an abundance of snack foods around, whether at parties, in gifts or purchased on an impulse when you went shopping hungry...admit it, that totally happens! This is just a really hard time to keep up good eating habits. But never fear, if you're careful there are a lot of snacks out there that aren't terrible for you. Some tasty alternatives to the traditional snacking options includes products from SunRidge Farms.I had the opportunity to test out a few of their offerings and very much enjoyed them. And surprisingly, so did my two oldest daughters, 4 and 6 years old. One of the varieties we tried was the Organic Nutcracker Crunch. This is "a nutty and perfectly roasted blend of organic peanuts, Japanese rice crackers, sesame sticks and tamari pumpkin seeds." I've always been a fan of Japanese rice crackers and sesame sticks, I never would've thought to add nuts and pumpkin seeds, but the mix really does work.
Another SunRidge Farms snack we tried was the Tamari Roasted Mixed Nuts. This is "a premium and deluxe blend of all natural roasted nuts including cashews, almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds." This nut and seed mix is delicious! It's loaded with almonds, at least my bag was, they're my favorite! The last item we tried I can't find on the SunRidge Farms website, I think it's new. But it was very tasty! It's their Organic Dark Chocolate Almonds. These are "batch roasted and then covered in creamy organic chocolate that's grown and harvested on sustainable organic farms." Both my husband and I love dark chocolate, add that to my favorite nut and I am in love! A few of these definitely fulfill my chocolate cravings.
And now, here's a little of information about the company:
SunRidge Farms' products are manufactured in Pajaro, CA and the distribution facility is powered by 70 percent solar energy at peak usage. SunRidge Farms has worked diligently over the past several years to become a Certified Green Business by the Monterey County Green Business Program. How cool is that? They get paid to bike to work, making money and getting exercise. I'd totally take them up on that, weather permitting of course.
Since being founded in 1982, SunRidge Farms is on a mission to promote healthy living through the quality, integrity and environmental sensibility of the products they create. The company uses biodiesel delivery trucks, powers its sales fleet with hybrid vehicles, offers recycling education classes and pays employees $5 a day to bike to and from work."
You can order SunRidge Farms' products on their website or send them a message to find out where you can purchase these items in person. It's time to start snacking more responsibly!
